Pepperoni.

The final review for today; Asda frozen pepperoni pizza. This pizza cost £0.90, almost as cheap as pizzas get. Surprisingly, it’s not too bad. The sauce is pretty mild in flavour, as is the cheese. The pepperoni on the other hand, tastes ok. This pizza was never going to be the best, but for its price point it performs well. I’ve had worse pizzas that cost far more.

Spinach and Mozzarella

Another offering from Asda on the first mega review day. This time a frozen Spinach and Mozzarella with ultra thin base, for people who are trying to be healthier while still eating pizza. The base is indeed very thin, light and crunchy. The sauce has a nice tomato flavour and the mozzarella is smooth and creamy. Overall, a well balanced pizza, that tastes good. However, it isn’t particularly filling, so buying many of these pizzas to consume in one meal is recommended!

Kickin’ Fajita Chicken.

The second offering for today, is another from the Asda pizza counter, and I may have overlooked it a bit! Kickin’ Fajita Chicken, a Mexican inspired pizza with peppers, spicy chicken, jalapeños and two cheeses. This was quite a tasty pizza with most of the flavour coming from the fajita spices and cheese, personally I don’t think it delivered on the hotness implied by the name. Overall it was okay.

Very Veggie Supreme.

Never in my life did I expect my first pizza review to be a vegetable pizza, but here it is! The Very Veggie Supreme is a thin base pizza from the ASDA fresh pizza counter. The toppings include red onion, sweetcorn, mushroom, yellow, red, and green peppers. This pizza is a great option for people suffering from vegetarianism. While this wouldn’t usually be my first choice I was surprised by the refreshing taste of vegetables on a pizza. My criticisms would be, the ingredients were unevenly spread and the sauce didn’t have a lot of flavour, but it was certainly an acceptable base/sauce/cheese combo.

Mama Mia rating: 6 not bad!

The pizza review system.

The pizza review system, for the purpose of this blog, will document every pizza that I try. Each review will include a photo, an overview and a rating out of 10. Instead of stars, we’ll call them Mama Mia’s!

All pizzas will be reviewed, from fancy restaurant pizzas to cheap supermarket pizzas. This will include pizzas that I may not like, Hopefully these reviews will go some way to determine some of the best pizzas available.

Let the testing begin!
